Went over to my favorite LGS today to put a Sp101 .22 on lay away. Looked at the display gun, all was well. Clerk brought up a cased one and told me to look it over while he did the paperwork for the lay away. While examining it I noticed it had a very canted barrel. I pointed it out to him and he got me another one. The second cased gun was fine so I went ahead and put it on lay away. He had seven in stock not counting the display and we only looked at two. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this at their LGS lately on th e.22's? I really like the SP's, have several and this will be my first one in .22. Hope it shoots.
As I was leaving the clerks had the canted barrel gun out and were passing it around and showing it to the owner, he said nothing except to package it for return. I hated to see it.

When I got mine it was canted pretty badly and the rear sight was bent in the opposite direction.
I called Ruger and they had UPS come to the house and pick it up. ten days later it was back and all was well.

Somebody asleep at the switch maybe? The barrel on this one was really obvious and I won't believe someone at Ruger didn't see it? Just curious why so many.
Ruger and S&W have been building some great revolvers for a while now and I know they know how to screw a barrel on. Makes me even more satisfied that I was able to pick a couple 80's era GP's last week. They are both fitted very well and are rock solid. My one year old Sp101/.357 is straight as a good rail too. :D
