Source for Threaded brass Tube?? Up dated

Looking for some help. Need to find some brass tube with female threads. Need 8-40 thread. Only need about two inches at most. Inch will do the project but need to account for and mistakes and thickness of my cuts. Any idea of where I could something like this? Thanks for any advice.

I'm thinking you'll have to make your own, especially in 8-40. 8-32 you may get lucky. What OD?

yes, the 'trick' is the "ID" so that is can be threaded (tapped) properly, gonna be really soft and easily stripped.....

Thanks for the ideas.Thinking steel might be a better choice. Main reason I wanted brass was corrosion resistance. Need these pieces for a knife handle. Already has brass inserts. But they use a tiny screw. Knife is a hunting knife. Like to take the handles off to clean up the blood. In the process of making new handles and wanted to up the hardware to something a little more substantial. The holes in the knife tang are about 8-40 but just a hair to big to thread.I have plenty of metal to open the holes up. So the outside of the insert does not matter much. I have the proper drill and tap for 8-40 so maybe I will fashion my own.

I looked at those. But I will end up with at least a 1/2 inch thickness of handle once I am done. So I did not think they would be long enough. They are also smaller diameter than the existing holes I have in the knife tang. The handle might be able to move if the fasteners do not fill the hole.Also the cost of just ordering a few plus shipping is way more than go insert and screw route. I have plenty of screws on hand and even I have to make the inserts figure I will be money ahead and I know things would move.

will your handles be 1/2 on both sides or total,what size are the existing wholes in the blade. i hardly use screws unless its a heavy duty use knife. epoxy and pins is really all you would need.

Total thickness will be about 1/2". Eah scal is a 1/4" before I do any shaping knife tang is a strong 1/8" Existing holes are 11/64ths. Measured with drill bit. This knife is my do all hunting knife. I am making new scales out of G10. I want to be able to remove the scales to clean the knife. Knife is already pitted under the scales from blood. Eventually I am going to cerakote the knife but until then I want the option to easily remove the scales.

the epoxy will seal the scales so nothin will get under them . im findin the hex or torx screws but not in the 8x40 .8x32 is closest

Got n assortment box of screws for scope rings and bases. I have 8-40 in a few different lengths.

Thanks for all the ideas. Digging through my junk today I found a solution. I had a bag of chicago screws for rifle slings.The female side is just slightly larger than the holes in my knife.Just need to cut off the head to make it open on both ends. Don't know what the threads were. But I got lucky and my 8/40 tap went right in and cut new complete perfect threads. 8-40 screw goes right in. Now I just need my G10 slabs to show up and I can get down to business.

Jantz Supply had the color I wanted so I ordered from them. I wanted a nice and visible handle but did want solid orange. That had a orange and black laminate. Should turn out nice.
