A murder trial was concluded recently here in Memphis. The crime occured about a year ago or so.

The crime was this: A man and his girl friend (or wife) were involved in a domestic dispute that escalated into a fight. He drew a pistol and shot and killed the woman in front of their daughter. He then went into another room, shot and killed the woman's mother and father, shooting each multiple times and reloading as he emptied his pistol. He let his daughter and another man in the house live.

He was apprehended and brought to trial, convicted and sentenced to death.

A comment on the death penalty: "I didn't think they would be so hard on him. This is just his first time to be in trouble."

Sounds a bit like the story about the armed robber of a dollar general store in Alabama getting shot by a customer with a ccw and the family complaining that the customer should have left the store and not shot their son. After all, even though the robber had employees on their knees with a gun to their head, the customer wasn't being robbed.

It was also the victims first, and only, time to be shot dead. I wonder if they took that into account?

We have a jackass here in GA being put to death tonight for raping and killing a 15 year old girl. Some do good-er group was on the radio today saying this was cruel and harsh punishment for this poor baby. BS it has been past time for his sorry azz to be removed.

Well if and when they do finally get around to injecting or electrocuting him there is one thing for certain... he won't kill anybody else.

I'm not totally in favor of the death penalty but I also know there are some people, not a lot mind you, but a few out there that are a waste of the life force...... it's just a shame it will cost millions of dollars to finally fix him.

The only reservations I have about the death penalty is the possibility of executing an innocent party. In cases where it is obvious the law has the right perpetrator hang 'em high and soon. By far most cases are obvious. If not then life sentence with no parole to be converted to a death penalty if later evidence proves the case.

Both injections and electrocution cost good hard earned tax dollars. I am completly in favor of a firing squad made up of victims---5-10 of them and each just brings one 10 cent 22 shell. Very effective even if all of them want to aim someplace other than the forehead.

I am pretty sure there are more than just a few out there!!! :wink:

I thought I read that Georgia just did in Marcus something; CONVICTED in 1989 for killing his ex-girlfriends two friends (female) and shooting and blinding her. A BIT ridiculous that it took 25 YEARS for the sentence to be carried out and THEN there were those arguing that he was a "changed man"; TOO bad those three girls never got a CHANCE to be changed about anything !!
