Some sights from the "Gathering": EVEN more added

It was a great time.. perfect weather and good people and of course outstanding host. I'd do it just to watch Contender go through the course he set up... still trying to see how he unloads and reloads a revolver in less than a second... so fast you miss it unless you are really watching. How does a guy do this with two reloads of a revolver 4-5 seconds faster than me with a semi-auto fully (16 rounds) loaded and I didn't even change mags?

The fact that the weather was nice really burns my buns, but my new pacemaker is doing fine I hope WE have good weather next year.

Not QUITE that fast but close. I was there taking pictures and never saw the reloads.
Between here:

there was a reload but I never saw it.

The Ruger Forum East Coast Gathering is held at my place,,, Lake Lure NC. Check out the "sticky" at the top. This was our 6th one!

It was literally a BLAST! Shooting each other's guns, eating, shooting some more, then eating, lots of networking (BS), then shooting and eating. Well you get the picture word wise and the real pics too.

Looked like great fun! Now tell me about your dirt berm.

Was the area dug out and then piled up to make the berm?

I'm in the planning stage of mine.

I live in the mountains of WNC. My berms were mostly dug out of the side of a hill. However, in some places,,, where we were going below the hillside I was on,, we used the dirt we dug out of one bay, to build up berms for a different bay. I have 7 pistol bays, and my range is build kinda going sideways into a hillside. Some is dug out, & some is fill in.
Build berms at an angle to allow for settling & drainage if possible. In my place,,, due to space & such,,, I've built several RR crosstie walls to hold back the dirt from washing down. Plus, I still get dirt falling & sliding down. In fact,,, we'll be digging & moving dirt this week.
