I posted a joke on the m14 forum and I was accused of trolling and trying to intice a fight with other members there.
Here's the trolling offensive joke I posted,
A Buddhist monk walks up to a hotdog vendor and says " make me one with everything.
I have two deals working with a couple guys there, when these deals are done I'm out of there
Seams that some of the folks there take them selves way to seriously.
I'd thought that that forum was much like this one, I see now that I was wrong.
This it the third time I've been admonished for something very innocent on my part and I've also been blasted for responding in kind when someone had belittled me there and told that I have No
communication skills and need to grow a thicker skin.
Seams to me they are in need of a rawhide skin graph .
It something like that joke is gonna set them off I don't need to be there.
These guys are susposed to be a bunch of serious operators if these little words rattle them I damn sure wouldn't want to be taking incoming fire with them,wouldn't want them to piss their pants and maybe get some on me .

I can relate, I fully believe a lot of people rather than to admit the joke went over their head will find some way to attack the "joker." In true Democrat fashion they want to drag the bar down to their level rather than make the attempt. Consider the source and let it go.

an aside: I have a book of zen quotes around here...if I can find it I'll post some later. I've always liked the zen way of thinking. It's sort of light hearted in a way, like your joke...

Lou, that is pretty much why I no longer visit a certain 1911 forum. They had NO sense of humor. I was once told I would be banned for a 30 day period it I posted another 'remark' that I had made. I told them that they needn't worry; I wouldn't be back and that I could get my information for so other more agreeable source.

Sounds like some folks on that forum don't want 'to be one' with a simple non-offensive joke.

I am at a loss as to what could possibly be wrong with that joke. I think it actually reminds us to carry a higher spirit in our lives.

I heard it before but the object was a pizza. This is the only forum I visit on an almost-daily basis.

You'd think a bunch of M-14 owners wouldn't be wankers. I used a 14 in basic (woo hoo!) but I wonder how many of those guys were in at all.

Some of the car forums are inhabited by kids talking about the new car mom or dad just bought them.

Nope I won't be posting ANYTHING else there unless its a direct question, I will not answer any questions concerning the how tos and why's about the M1A or any other type of firearm and I'll damn sure keep my thoughts and jokes to my self.
I've made a few friends there,but we have each others phone numbers and can keep in touch that way.
As I said , when I have the two deals done I have working I won't be going there unless I can't find an answer somewhere else.
BTW it was the sight admin. that pounced on me about that joke.
I've read MUCH worse things there.
Here's my thinking on the matter.
Remember the thread I told y'all about that I posted on that forum
"Would you trust this guy with guy?" And it had a pic of me from 2006 when me hair was real long, and then a pic of me in uniform with my head shaved clean and one taken of me last Oct.
Well they removed the post because if the responded that OTHER members were making that were derogatory,vulgar and mean spirited in nature toward me.
It was a JOKE and was stated as such.
I understand how guys feel about their daughters and even though I don't have kids of my own ,l coincided Chelies girls as my girls and pitty the fool that does harm to one of them .
That ain't gotta worry about Charlie , they best be check in their 6 for me.
It was a joke over the internet.
It ain't like I'd come knocking at their front door asking to see their daughter.
What I think is there are a bunch of wannebe posers there that just because they own an M1A makes them some sort of hardassed battle scared combat vet.
Some of those guys are just that and I thank them for their service, but here's the thing.
If they served they did so to uphold and defend the individual rights of the citizens of this country.
That includes my right to grow my hair as long as I damn well please, listen to Merl Haggard or Jimmy Hindrix or who ever I wish to.
Seams there's a nasty double standard running amuck there .
I yam who I yam ,as is my right to be , I think either some have forgotten that or that just think everyone should fall in and march to their drum.
Either way I ain't gonna stand for that yugo.
I'm thankful that we have this forum here at least we can overlook simple things like innocent jokes made in good faith to help spread a laugh and the way one wares three hair.
I don't need to go on line to argueywith someone,I live with my wife AND her sister.
If I want to argue with someone all I need do is talk with either of them for five minutes and BAM instant argument!!!!!!.
