This pair is bid up on Gunbroker now. I just realized that my set of NIB RCA Bisley Stag .32 H&R Single Sixes I put on Gunbroker has the same two ending digits as these. Two rare matched sets in the same caliber that match each other. I'm thinking maybe I should have kept these. @#$%!

I have one consecutive pair of John Wayne .32 H&R Single Sixes. The total number in this run was 1250. The serial numbers are DUKE 1037 and DUKE 1038. Whoever gets these will be the first to see them since factory packaging. I'm not going to touch them, so don't bother asking for pictures. I would prefer them that way myself, and think most serious collectors would also. For those of you who don't already know, the grip panels on these are black micarta, checkered with a palm swell. They are the best of the birdshead grip panels. They really feel good in the hand. They have the 3.75" sheriff's barrel, and tons of embellishment. Since I'm not going to open them for pictures, I've included some pictures of the ones off the Quinn boys website at Gunblast. The price for the pair is $1600.00 shipped to an FFL. The grips are not REAL ebony. They are ebony colored micarta or similar synthetic. I know you have not opened yours, but I have opened, shot, and removed the grips and looked at the back of them, and they are not wood.

Just for information. We don't want someone to come after you wanting to know where the real ebony grips went when they buy your guns and find synthetic grips on them.

I've been wrong before. I will find out for sure tomorrow. I had the grips off one of my personal ones to lighten the hammer spring, and didn't see a difference between them and my other ebony grips. I don't have one I can look at now. I will double check myself on this one.

FWIW, Jeff wrote that the grips were ebony wood too. I bought the test gun, so I'll try to remember to pull them and verify. Either way - nothing wrong with Micarta!

The Talo website lists them as (copied and pasted)

I called Bob this morning, and he said they're actually black micarta. I would imagine Jeff was going off the same info I was. By the way, that was a great detailed article you guys did on them. I'm thinking about dragging in some more of your pictures. You guys run a great site, and do us all a good service. Keep up the good work!

SOLD: I had this set on Gunbroker also, and someone just hit the reserve. I just now realized that my consecutive set of .32 Bisley stags that are on Gunbroker have the same end digits as these. 650-16237 and 650-16238. Should have hung onto that little combo! I can't believe I didn't notice it before I listed them. Too late now#@%$! Oh well.
