Social Security direct deposit

I've been receiving my monthly SS check by mail for 3-4 months now with a little note that I'm required to change to direct deposit. Having not much to do on 12/23, I called the number and went through the steps. One of the questions was "How much is your monthly check?". When I replied "$8", the young lady immediately asked "EIGHT dollars?". I could almost see her eyes pop over the phone. It was quite funny at the time.
"Yes Ma'am, $8 and I can't get along without it so we don't want any mistakes".

Wow you get $8.00 per month ??....we get less than that combined.

All joking aside we've had our SS checks, my company retirement and my VA disability direct deposited from the git go and have never had any problems.

Federal retirement and Social Security direct deposited. My annuity check is mailed to us.

When I first signed up with SS, they told me I would be getting it on a Wednesday. Soon after, it began arriving on Tuesday which has been pretty steady for many years now. Every once in a while for some reason it would show up as early as Monday. A couple of years ago presumably because of the holidays in November/December it showed up on a Friday, almost a week early.
