Single-Six w/.22mags

Whats your favorite loading ? Why ? Was a .22mag testing done in March NRA Hunter mag.. But in a rifle format. For me, the .22mag allows me to flex up to larger critters, more so than to more range. This means I'm not interested in the lighter faster bullets. Federal has a 50gr HP. I've bought a few boxes but haven't shot any game with them yet. Anyone here have practicle info on the Federal 50gr HP load ? steve b

What is the name of these Federal 50 Gr loads? Can you describe the box so I can look for some?
My favorite load for years in .22WMR has been the Winchester Super-X solid and HP. It gives good preformance in the solid point loading but the HP is amazing! I have used it in my Marlin 1894 .22WMR to shoot THROUGH(!) a steel plate! Granted the plate was soft steel and about 3/16" thick but the HP round punched right thru it! In my 6" Single Six, it also gives stellar preformance and frankily I have carried it as a self defense load while out in the mountains and afield. I would not hesitate to depend on it against a 2 legged varmit as it penetrates and mushrooms well!
I am especially intrested in these Federal loads for the same reason, to get a heavier, deep penetrating bullet with a good muzzle energy.
I don't always have my .357 Magnum Vaquero on when afield and you never know where a trheat or danger might come from? A heavy bullet .22WMR just might be the ticket?

The Federal loads are of the Game Shok line. Mine are in the 50 rd plastic box with sliding top. My wife likes the Single-Six, as do many. Its my 3rd ! This load, I'm thinking, maybe the most lethal when you have to consider its use against bigger thing. Again, maybe. For those with derringers in .22mag ? Maybe a good load for it. steve b
