I have a Single Six with a 4 digit serial and I can't seem to find anything about it. Spec, year it was made, what it worth etc etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum. We'd be glad to help you but we'll need some information:

For value we'll need a photo or estimate of the percentage of original blue finish remaining.

It's a very early one and with a 4 digit serial # it was made the 2nd year of production, 1954 in .22 LR. Those early models known as the old model with 3 screws thru the cylinder frame were made before 1973. First known as the Ruger Revolver and Ruger Single Six Model until 1955, they all had a 5 1/2" barrel and black hard rubber grips. After 1955 they became the RSS Model.

Here's a few pics. It's in great condition and I believe it's never been fired or if it has it's been shot very few times. There's not even any marks on the cylinder. Looks like the blueing is in great condition as well

Welcome to the forum, good info above and yes its a very nice early 'flategate) RSS5, , the name meaning the loading gate on your gun ( the early guns ) was made ' flat' so as to not be confused with a Colt ( that has always been MY take on the reason "why") but soon to be found that was hard on the fingernails to open it to load and unload....a company called Premiere, made a replacement, rounded, loading , a bit longer that what was to be the "standard or norm" so Ruger did their own and was used from then on, sometime in 1957.....nice gun, and the hard rubber (plastic) grips on your gun have turned to a shade from brown due to sunlight ( ultraviolet rays) or maybe even just getting "dry"....wipe them down with a good oil or grease and the may darken up...many folks 'like' this brown shade....another thing to keep n mind is being your gun is a very early one, the bore diameter is on the smaller ( tighter) side ....and thus was never meant to be a "convertible" ass the 22 magnum did NOT come to being until 1959, when the bore became .002" (thousandths) larger in diameter for the 'new' Magnum cartridge. again a NICE gun, a "classic". and worth quite a bit on todays market..........;)

Nice FlatGate .22!
As noted,, appears to be a Type 2, and with a 4 digit number,, made in 1954.

As for value,, it appears to having "aged" a bit where the grip frame has grayed to a duller color, (unless it's the pictures,) and has a little wear in a few places.
Without very clear & close up pictures to truly show the condition, the value of a Type 2 with the condition I see would be in the $500-$600 range.

I appreciate everybody's help. It is a nice little gun. I'm not really in the market to get rid of it, I was just kind of curious what it was worth and some of the other details. I believe this is one that'll have to stay in the collection
