Found a single six, serial #498xxx. Is this a .22 magnum only? Collector value?

To give a value, we'd need a lot more info. Condition is very important. (Pics help)
And I do believe that it should be a convertable model, (using my faded memory about serial numbers.) And especially if it doesn't have the rollmark on the side stating 22 mag.

Will help Contender out.
Nope s/n would have to be 300001-394740 and "MAGNUM SINGLE-SIX
WIN..22 RF MAG. CAL." rollmark, except for very few in this s/n range.
Jim
PS Someone lost the 22LF cylinder on yours

 Possibly Ruger's serial number data base may be confusing the OP since it includes a Sigle-Six Magum Model chart that lumps together 1959-1969 SS's as 22 Magnum's by serial number/year, but does not specify which are the magnum only and which are covertables during that time period. 498XXX comes in on that chart as 1968, so would be an easy assumtion on the part of the OP. FWIW

Thanks Jim, I was working off an old man's faded memory! :D

Rugers website serial number/model data isn't the best. The RENE is much better.

As Contender said, impossible to value without more info, but I'll go out on a limb here:

assuming 95% orginal finish or better, original grips, no box/paperwork and no abuse or modifications, in my location worth around $400 less $100 for missing 22 LR cylinder.
