Just scored today a 1956 unconverted Flatgate. It's in excellent shape, other than the ejector rod housing has some rub marks on it, and a smidgen of holster wear at the muzzle. This is the 3rd one I have owned over the years, always ended up selling them. Think I will keep this one!

Congratulations! Your "Flatgate" or any Flatgate post
for that matter catches my eye. Very nice condition.

You will enjoy that Single Six. I have a well taken
care of SS five digit serial number '56 too. Believe
it or not it is very accurate, best with Win M22
black box.

I treat mine as if it is the last one on Earth. The Best
to you and your Endeavors.

Very nice! I've owned a few and was never able to hold onto one either, they always made my thumb sore during a shooting session. A few years ago I found one with a Premier loading gate and Micro sights someone had added, and it's most definitely a keeper.

My Flatgates have a more curved trigger.

However, my early 4 5/8 inch sports the straighter trigger as seen in your pictures.

Nice, nice gun to have. Congrats! (y)
