Single SingleBisely Questions

Hi veryone,
I'm hoping I can get some help here. I put a deposit on a NIB Single Six Bisely at a local gun shop. It has 4 5/8 bbl. I don't see it on Ruger's website and I'm wondering what year it was in production and discontinued.
Also, I've been searching for a holster for it and I can't seem to find one made for the short bbl. I don't want / need a very expensive holster but I would like a leather holster to use in the field that looks good also. I'd like to keep the price between $70.00 to $100.00, the closer to the $70.00 mark the better . This might change my mind from buying the Bisely to buying a Single Six convertable with a 5.5 bbl. as I see there are many choice of holster for that gun.
Any help will be greatly appreciated .............. Joe

Welcome to the forum. If you can get the serial number of the gun, you can go to the Ruger website and look up when it was approximately made

Bisley Sixes are great guns.
Use ebay for your holster search. Also a cordura holster runs cheap and holds up well for just toting a revolver while out on a hike

Personally Bisley models of the Single Six are my most favorite. Would love to have the model you are talking about.
El Paso Saddlery makes outstanding leather holsters.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies and help.
M'BOGO - .22 cal. (no mag cylinder, its not a convertable model ) with fixed sights.
I decided I'm keeping the gun and will be picking it up this week. If anyone else reading this has a recommendation for a holster by all means please post a reply.

Sounds like a good one. Keep in mind, the Bisley grip frame requires a different holster because of trigger guard differences, than a standard Single Six.

If your Single Six Bisley 22 is high polished stainless, it is a limited run of about 500! That model is usually not very cheap.

PS Some more info I found out - on the envelope that contained the spent round included a date of 09/2002 so that's the approximate date of mfg.. Also just under 1000 of these were made.

Now I'd like to find out what frame I have so can I buy stag grips. Anybody know?

I ordered a pair of elk grips for my speed six from another stag grip maker 5 months ago and still haven't gotten them yet.

Yes, Patrick is very fast on delivery. I have several sets of stocks from him (elk horn, bone, sheep) and all have been delivered very quickly. However, the other grip maker known for elk stag produces very fine work - worth the wait after they arrive. :)

I hope so. I waited for 4 months for some custom work to a pair of my revolvers by a forum noted gunsmith. He did a third of the work he was supposed to have done, charged me full price and what he did do doesn't really look that great.
It's a shame to wait a long time for a disappointment.

Your thread title reads Single SingleBisley. That's NOT a Ruger Model but a Single-Six Bisley IS!. I'll make a wild guess that you have a Bisley :D
