A guy on another site was saying he was having difficulty signing up on here. He was told that: "Ruger forum will not accept "free" email accounts. Gmail, yahoo etc." I don't know if that's so or what. Been to long since I signed up and don't remember what I was using. Can someone answer this?

Perhaps he could use somebody else's email address to register, like a relative.
I had an AOL account it didn't like so I just used an AT&T account that I never used and it worked. That AT&T account is long gone now. Unless you use email notifications, which don't work reliably anyway, it will never know the difference. The forum doesn't send out anything on email and you should not put it in your signature unless you want Spam emails. :D

I tried to join for a long time finally got a realguns email then it worked. I have always had a yahoo account.

I think it's to stop the spam folks who have revolving accounts trying to sell you various crap. As mentioned above, tell them to go to the administration and make a request.... bet it will work.

You actually have to pay for an email account? I don't pay anyone for my bell south ones.... then again I pay enough other conglomerates that it doesn't matter.

The freebie email sites get blocked in mass to help keep out the spammers. So it's not a simple matter of just letting this one address in, it doesn't work that way.

I have a google email. I sent an email to the admin way back when. No problem. Not sure if it's changed since then. Usually the Internet provider you sign up with will have an email. We use ATT and there is an ATT email I could use if I choose too... This guy could do the same.
