Fed up with ATT internet

Fibre optic from Frontier, now owned by Verizon.

At some houses we have rented the WiFi has been from T Mobile. No complaints and no idea about cost. Might be worth investigating.

I recently switched from consumer cell, to a wifi hotspot from starighttalk. (verizon sub).... 100 gigs for $50 a month... You have to buy the hotspot ($100), but so far it has worked well. The fee is the fee.. no extra taxes or fee's on it.
I had one hiccup with it, where everything slowed down... customer service was friendly and professional.. they jumped through all the hoops, and eventually got it fixed.. It took a reboot and I had to shut it down for a bit.... they even called me back to make sure it was working properly.
I live 8.5 miles from my tower and I have no trouble streaming video, or multi-tasking.... (well.... sometimes)..... but was well worth it... and it seems to go further than the data from my phone....

COX has bundled deals if you get COX high speed Internet and use their carrier for your cell phones.
COX uses Verizon cell towers. You don't have to purchase their phones. They just switch your carrier service only.

Anybody gave a reasonably priced internet provider they actually like. Thanks.
After 20+ years as a loyal customer, AT&T priced me out of their market. So I switched to Spectrum for ALL services. Spectrum cellphone - $30/each including taxes. Internet, cable, etc. - originally 50% of AT&T's comparable service.

Spectrum creeps up in price every couple of years, and I get them back down by calling their CS and threatening to cancel service. I had been doing this same thing with A&T every three years, but on my final call the AT&T CS rep rudely told me, "If you don't like our pricing, you can always leave." So I did.

And THAT's AT&T. Waaaaaaay too big for their breeches.

How is internet with Spectrum, speed, reliability?

Lucky I live in a tiny town , our local small town internet service is only $30 per month.

When I was in so cal it was over $100 per month crap service from Spectrum plus extra $$ for all the scams they pull on you(corrupt rip off company)

How is internet with Spectrum, speed, reliability?
My Spectrum internet-based services are good, good speed and reliable except only for very infrequent thunderstorm-triggered outages.

I installed EERO Wi-Fi range extenders throughout my home (3,000 sf one-story, brick veneer). So, my cellphone-based Wi-Fi service is bulletproof.

My neighborhood has two fiber-optic cable systems - one for Spectrum and a separate one for AT&T. So, I'm not compelled to piggyback AT&T for ANY services.

Spectrum's cellular service is also high quality - of course cell service is a function of the location of transmission/relay towers vis-a-vis my home. In that regard, Spectrum's towers are well situated for my home. The AT&T service I replaced was very spotty - if I moved 1' to the left in my office chair, I lost my AT&T service (before the EERO range extenders). And the AT&T per-phone cost was about $50. So, switching gave me better cellular service and a $20/month lower cost for each phone ($40/month for both phones). That monthly savings, alone, paid for the EERO range extenders in less than 6 months.

What finally soured me on AT&T was their deception about their claimed availability of "high-speed internet" in my neighborhood. Several years ago, I had agreed to increase my AT&T internet service by $15/month, in exchange for AT&T "switching" me to their fiber-optic network. Come to find out, the AT&T fiber-optic service only went to a junction box about 1/4 mile from my home - internet connectivity was via the old-technology copper wires from the junction box to my home. In other words, I wasn't getting the benefits from fiber-optic network speeds that AT&T had promised.

In summary, other than lying to me about their internet connectivity, their lousy cellular service and continually price-gouging me - a loyal 20+ year customer in my 70s - AT&T wasn't too bad.

But as the saying goes, "Other than THAT, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?"

I had a similar experience, for 50 years I paid ATTT $400 a month. I switched to Optimum, service is a little better but the price dropped to $190.

Switched from Spectrum to TDS. We use phone and internet. Spectrum (cable) was good, but priced us out as it was creeping up by $5 every couple of months and hit a point where we was unwilling to pay. With TDS fiber we could get a fixed cost for both for life of the service. Back to well under $100 a month. No more creeping costs.
