Should I buy a used P90DC, was a range gun, not in excellent condition it shows some signs of wear, it is offered to me for $350 with 2 mags, or $400 with 8 mags.

I might be able to trade for it, so that might help, BUT....With the NEW RUGER SR1911 out (THAT IS ONE SWEET GUN), I dont know what to do.

Anyone have any ideas if this is good deal or not? Should I wait for the SR1911?

I like the P90, but for $350, you should be able to find one in good condition IMHO.

Try to always work a better deal but I say buy it for 400 with the 8 mags if they are factory. Then sell 6 of the mags at a minumum of 20 each and wala you have a P90 for 280. JMHO.

the 8 factory mags are a good selling point, I probaly need to haggle a bit, but then agian I might just save the money for the SR1911

Yes, stainless is worth more than blued and the DC model is more scarce than the safety model. My only concern is that it was a range gun.

If the barrel is still good and the frame is in good shape, then the most it might need is a new set of springs. You just don't want to pay $350 for the gun, then have to pay for a new barrel or something, do you know what I mean?

Maybe you could offer $350 for the gun with the extra mags and see what they say.

I prefer the KP90DC over the 1911. As mentioned you should get a better gun for that price. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=228417249

You could make a pretty good argument that the P90 is a superior design to the 1911. Its double action and can be gotten with a De-cock-Only or with a Manual safety/Decocker. Because it is double action you have second-strike capability which can be useful in certain circumstances. The P90 is well known to be anvil-reliable and many folks find that they are very accurate. Generally a P90 is going to be better than a cheap foreign made 1911 that sells for similar money (Springfield GI, Rock Island, Taurus come to mind).

350$ is a bit steep for a well-used range gun. You should definitely shoot it first and see how it works. If you try it out and everything works well and the gun shoots accurately and the seller included 8 Factory Ruger magazines then it is a good buy. Still, I cant help thinking that you might be better served to shop around and find a gently used one. You should be able to find a used P90 in very good condition for 400 or less.

The SR1911 certainly looks nice and if you can find one and get it for a reasonble sum of money...that is awfully tempting. Its Made in the USA and so far every review has been positive (at least the ones I have read).

good luck and whichever you decide to get, I dont think you will go wrong.
