Hello,

Over this past weekend I purchased a couple guns from an estate sale. 1 of them is a P90DC 45 acp. Once I checked for clear I decocked it. I then pulled the trigger in double action. The trigger didn't feel connected to the action. Given the huge scratch on the slide from what looks like the slide stop. I assumed a blind monkey had this gun apart and missed something on reassembly. Any tips/ideas on what it could be or where to look? I haven't owned a p series since a P85 I owned in 1986. So taking one apart is going to be new to me.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

If it's a model with a safety, maybe you'll need to check that its not on safe. Maybe you'll need to reinsert the mag? I'm just guessing and I assume that you've probably already checked all of that.

If it is in fact a P90DC there should be no safety. Get the slide off and take a look. They are a fairly simple [typical Ruger] design. With the slide off you should be able to watch the trigger engage the trigger bar and start moving rearwards to disengage the sear. Pics of the insides would help!

Welcome to the Forum. Hopefully, and I think it probably is, your gun is fine...As far as guns go, there is not much out there as robust as a P90. Good luck.

I have seen where the trigger bar gets "stuck" from gunk in there. Field strip per the manual and clean it up and pop it back together.

Do post updates. There are several P-nuts on here that know a thing or two about the old P-series.

Keep the P-guns alive!!
