Well, looks like no range day for me this weekend.
I was awoken by the wife with news every homeowner HATES to hear " Honny, I hear water dripping behind the water heater". My first thought was God, just take me now.
My second thought was " I know exactly what's wrong".
This house was plumbed with Polybutylene and every where it interfaces with copper is à week point.
I've had to repair or replace all the copper from the hot water heater to where it connects to the copper except about a 6" price right at that joint.
Well this morning I got to replace that too.
Now we have well water and its sweet water but also rich in minerals ,I know this it hard on copper, but something about where the hot water line ,where the copper meets this P.B. seams to be the weak point.
Lucky for me I had already cut an access hole the first time I had to fix that pipe ,and I just happened to have a straight quick coupler and a 6' price of 3/4" copper pipe left over from the last time.
So , knock on wood" pounding on my head now" it looks like it's fixed for now.At least all the copper between the hot water heater and the P.B. in no more than a few years old ,but now I'm tired and dirty and just don't feel like lugging all my range gear and rifles out to the truck, unloading at the range, loading it all back up and unloading again when I got home and then cleaning my guns.Tomorrow is out ,were going to a Mother's day party for my second Mama, she's the longest serving Depuiry on our Sheriff's Office, going on 40 years now .She sort of adopted me right from the first time we met.
I love that lady like she was my real Mom and best of all she is our senior bailiff and I've seen that 5'4" 140 pound elderly lady take a strapping 6'4" muscle bound bad a$$ed gang banger and body salm him before any of us other Deputies could even flinch and that punk never knew what hit him except for he was on the floor of the court room and his shoulder didn't seam to work any more.
He said the wrong thing and made the wrong move on that little old lady Deputy .
She put a move on him I've never seen before and did it so fast I'm not sure I saw it LOL.
So maybe one day next week I'll make it to the range and put these two M1A's through their paces.
