something one does NOT see everyday, in fact, I recall ever seeing ONE in all our years of doing guns................... 8)

My friend that is one old 8) handgun and what great patina,form :!: and the grips neat. What would be the worth in your opinion? I Just have no idea---never cared for the priceing books----Blue book :lol:

Dern!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats a nice one. I too have never seen one that old. Looking at some of the features, we can see how the current models changed. Excellent Dan!

Tell us more of the story on that one!! Heck any 1905 is good property, let alone a two-digit gun!!

Wish I could, the family found this in the mans "stuff" and was gotten many years ago and the repair to the cracked grips was done before WW1......precursor to the 1911 Gov. ,model 45 acp....if only it could talk.....
hate to think what a "letter" from Colt would cost for something like this, WOW..................... :shock:

ah, got a bit more info today, from the book:

"The Government Models", by William H. D. Goddard Page, it shipped to W. Bingham Co. on February 6, 1906, shipment of 1 gun .W. Bingham Co. was a Cleveland, Ohio hardware company from 1841 to 1961....................
