Found 1971 4" Sec Six .Can some one advise the proper grip this revolver was equipped with from SR Thanks SAM

You might want to re check that serial number. Ruger security six was produced from 1972-1988. I love the Security Six but I prefer the grips on serial #s 151-xxxx and newer using those older Ruger target grips.

Probably a 'low back' grip frame. Will need grips for a series 150- ser. no.
A photo would help. Would have been the walnut small grip panels.

Here are some after market grips that would fit (e-bay)

Click this link. The photo of the blued snubbie is the correct grips.

WAYNO.

I have a few aftermarket grips for the 150- serial numbers. If you're interested, just send me a PM. IIRC I even have a set in Zebrawood that is rough finished (grip frame cutout is complete but you can sand them to what ever you want.

Sam, Terry T has shown you pictures. And references have been made to the "low-back" frame. If you truly do have a gun with a 150 prefix, realize that you will need the grips from that series, NOT a 151 prefix & later.
