Could someone give me an educated guess on what this would be worth? It's a low back from 1972 with original box, manual, warranty card and purchase receipt. In excellent condition but does have a turn line on the cylinder.

Was hoping you'd say 150-000xx. That's where the big money is. (y)

Nice package for sure. You check completed auction on places like Gun Broker yet?

Haven't looked there yet. Ended up with this on a trade and wasn't sure what today's market was on them. I'm more into GP100's and Blackhawks

Thanks, Wayno. Now to decide if I want to keep it or not. I went looking for a GP100 10mm or 44spcl and ended up with this beauty.

I'm feeling lucky... might it be 150-21799? :sneaky:

The box is what really makes it. By itself it would be a $650 gun, but the early white box jumps that up quite a lot, and you have the early manual and at least a partial warranty card. On GunBroker, it would not surprise me to see $900+ on that package.

It's the early frame design, generally speaking restricted to the 150 prefix guns, but a few stainless lowbacks were made in the low end of 151 and some blue highback fixed sight guns appear in the upper end of 150. The highback puts a bit more metal above the web of your hand, reducing the tendency for the hammer to bite you on recoil. The grips do not interchange from one to the other.

Ok, Thanks! I guess mine would be a "High Back" as I know I purchased it after 1982. It has Pachmayr Grips on it, so I can't see the Serial Number.

WMG is right and the high back occasionally snuck into the 150- range too. I had a 4 inch Speed Six with high back that was 150-999xx ….. shoulda kept it.
