Fellow member going by RoninPA be a good source of info for you. He an FFL and gunsmith with EXCELLENT reputation and works on a lot of these.
I think a few years back I even bought an assortment of parts from him "just in case".

With a 161 prefix, that is getting late into the production time so it is a "newer" model. A lot depends on how you are going to use it, abuse it, modify it, etc. I really think the average Six series revolver owner really doesn't need to keep parts on hand. That said if it were me, I'd probably keep any/all of the internal springs, maybe the mainspring strut and a pawl. Brownells use to carry a tool to make taking the revolver apart easier (called the Ruger "Popper" but they don't carry it any more. Thanks for the information, I will keep an eye out for spare springs on eBay, and other places, on the cheap.One of my MOS's was small arms repair. Although I was trained in the repair of the Army M-108 revolver, (Service Six), never did I ever see one sent to us for repair. That mirrors my personal experience also.
Now, springs are a different issue. I have experienced springs and plungers zing into outer space. So, replacement springs are sometimes handy. Buying a whole armorers array of Security Six parts can be both scarce and expensive. Another option is to find a severe shooter grade revolver to rob parts if needed.
