Security Six HEAVY Barrel

Are Security Six revolvers with heavy barrels worth more than ones with the regular weight barrels? I do like the balance of the heavy barrel.

I've been offered a blued .357 Security Six in the box/shipper with all paperwork at a very good price. The whole package looks like it just left the factory.

How scarce are they and should I shoot it or let it reside unused next to my Security/Service Six shooters?

How many heavy barrel Security Sixes were made and did Ruger make Service Six heavy barrels.

The one I'm considering has a 4" barrel. Did Ruger make Security or Service Six heavy barrels in any other length?

To some folks, the heavy barrels are worth a little extra.

Any of them offered at a very fair price would already be home with me.

If it's LNIB, and I had other shooters, I'd let it remain a safe queen.

Ruger doesn't release production numbers. Quantity unknown.
