Security 380 Fire Control Unit

I just bought a Security 380. I took the slide off and I swear the fire control unit (also called the frame insert. #1 in the manual) looks like it made out of plastic. The slide rides on it and the serial number is on it and if it breaks, it's game over. Now I know Ruger has some type of a warranty, but it's kinda got me freaked out. Maybe i'm wrong and its metal. But it looks like plastic.

Hmm... pretty much looks metal to me. It'll begin to shine thru here and there after a few rounds.
