It makes me sad I can't search for posts made by deceased members. I don't understand, their posts are still there. But you can't search using their names. So it's very hard to find their posts.

Which member?

I can search by member in the search box on the upper right. Suppose thats only a Moderator thing?

I click the magnifying glass in the corner.

If I try to put his name in the search box. I get posts that mention his name. But not posts that he wrote.

If I try to put his name in the member box it doesn't list his name in the drop down.

I didn't know I could just type it out and it would work. It just isn't in the drop down.

Thank you very much.

I still miss Snake45, often times I do a google search and will end up on a different forum and find his posts there. He was a wealth of knowledge.

I was also thinking about GP100 he was the disabled stuntman.

Thank you. That works too.

I guess the drop down part only works for current active members. But if you type the whole name their posts do come up.

Thank you both

Sometimes you can search from googles home page. Type in the "user's name" the word "and" and "rugerforum.com" or some variation of this and you can get results.

I miss Fast Ed too. I was thinking about his dog Hoss. If Hoss is still around, he's an old dog these days.

Also if you find the user, click on the name and you can search their old posts:

One of FastEd's Jokes.

A Texas Cow Puncher walks into a
Saloon in Waco:

He sits at the counter and notices an old timer with his arms folded, staring blankly at a full bowl of chicken congee.

After fifteen minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the young cowboy bravely asked the old cowboy, "If you ain't gonna eat that, mind if I do?"

The older cowboy slowly turns his head toward the young wrangler and in his best cowboy manner says, "Nah, go ahead."

Eagerly, the young cowboy reaches over and slides the bowl over to his place and starts spooning in it with delight. He gets nearly down to the bottom and notices a dead mouse. The sight was shocking and he immediately barfs up the congee back into the bowl.

The old cowboy quietly says, "Yep, that's as far as I got, too."

FastEd's posts should be compiled and published.

Sad how the really interesting people in my life pass on and it seems nobody can fill their shoes.
