My budget is only up to $150 firm. Looking for a durable and dependable handgun scope for my stainless 6" gp 100 with weigand no drill scope mount. Appreciate your collective wisdom and experience! Looking to hunt boars in near future. First time hunting.

I have a Nikon 2x on a 44 Encore and a Bushnell Trophy 2x6 on a 223 Encore. Both are good scopes.
As far as 2x scopes go I like the Nikon better than Leupold. Seems easier to get a sight picture.

I have the exact same gun and mount with a Leupold 2X scope on it. It is short enough that it does not overhang the gun on either end and 2X is plenty of magnification for it.
Now, Leupold scope are a little pricy, but I got mine on gunbroker for ~ $150 in really nice shape. I felt that I would rather have a good used Leupold scope than a new lesser brand scope fro the same money.
Leupold will fix their scopes free if there is a problem with it anyway......unless of course, it was ran over by a truck. 8)

My Weaver 2x scope (Japanese made, I guess they still are) has been great. MidwayUSA sells them, and my 37 inch insleeve arms have wonderful eye relief. They have been rugged for me. Don
When I put a "scope" on my Bisley hunter I wanted the same thing, same budget. I opted for a Red Dot from ADCO. The one I got has a 1 moa dot. I went with a red dot because I reasoned that a revolver is essentially a short range weapon, and deserves a short range optic system. In two years it has not shifted aimpoint, and can be seen under all light conditions. Just a thought....

Not that I (currently; eyes ain't getting' any younger) use glass, but for this question I always default to the Ruger gurus at SSK Industries.

Yep , 2x is enuff power if ya find yourself with an offhand shot anymore power is too hard to hold still.
Hog huntin is usually fast & furious around here ! They`re moving or runnin (noses like a deer or better)so a reddot may be the ticket !!
I have a Burris 1.5x4 on a Redhawk Hunter & find it dialed to 1.5 almost always !
