i have a super blackhawk in 480 and the loading gate siezes up, after i take it apart and put it back together i can open and close the loading gate about 10 times and it gradually gets harder and harder then it just stops being able to open all together, any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like the spring tip is slipping off or binding. A new gate spring,, or maybe a slight bending of it may fix it.

When the gun is fully assembled, look under the bottom of the gate where the tip of that spring is, and watch it function. Sometimes you can see it move out of place.

Contender has it right, as usual. The gate spring is surely the culprit. Often there is a burr and occasionally the end of the spring is cut with a slight angle across the end, perhaps the victim of a dull stamping cutter. Call Ruger for a new spring. When you get it, hone or polish the tip where it bares against the gate to ensure that it has no burrs and it's edge is cut square (no slant on the edge) and smoothed to a nice shine. it just takes a couple minutes and will greatly improve the function. I have found that once they become faulty they cannot be resurrected. no amount of "tuning" seems to help. a new one is cheap and a huge time saver. Simple fix!

Yup.... buy yourself TWO new gate springs and all will be well.
JBS is correct, 'once faulty' hard to resurrect.
