I know it is "historical" .these companies founded so long ago but the states they are in are so gun "unfriendly",sad really but the people living there vote all these clowns in, that's even sadder.......... do miss my visits going up there and working with many of them years ago, S&W, High Standard, Dan Wesson, 8) :roll: :(

Good news for TN and those workers who can relocate. I wonder how much of the skilled and trained workforce S&W will loose and can “afford to loose". Remember the Remington-Marlin fiasco?

Gun laws, taxes, & a friendly business/working environment might be what S&W was looking for. Not population density or road conditions. Just guessing.

As it stands now, it seems a molding facility, for their polymer auto's. The revolvers' staying in New England at the preset time.

But all this gives them a test run for the local, & possibly a place to retreat to if it gets unbearable up Nawth.

goal of life is to make money as a worker. business goal is to profit by low overheads and taxes.
in order to gleen those already in tn, they must travel. if they build new...deforestation takes place.
if they build in city, crowded roads happen and it makes for long commutes and grid lock.
another issue is even though they are leaving mass, mass habits tend to migrate too. so you slowly dilute the tn ways. i see this everywhere. you go to a state (thinking) itll be different, an you find out thousands were way ahead of you and are already there ruining it. usa is surely heinz 57 and generica cant be stopped.

Dim view of Tn. there Bob? 750 new jobs ain't likely to turn the demographics of the state upside down, anymore than it's going to affect widespread traffic or the local flora & fauna.

It's likely good for a company that's been treated like crap in their home state for decades & the 750 workers will probably will appreciate it as well.

Time will tell, but I can't be negative about it from the start.

One thing Mass can look forward to,,, (besides the loss of 750 jobs,) is the lost taxes & such that S&W has provided for over a century & half. Lost revenue equates to higher taxes for the ones who are still there.

I've always been a believer of: "Vote with your feet". This move by S&W helps send a message. Whether it's heard by Ma. is doubtful, but I'm glad they sent it.

Les Baer left Illinois for the same reasons. He moved across the river to Iowa. They graciously welcomed him. The move was only a few miles so most of his workers stayed on.

Magpul left Colorado some time back due to political oppression. Voting with feet doesn’t seem to effect the state they leave in the long run. IMO

I think Smith and Wesson made a great
business decision. Stockholders hopefully
will be happy too. I think the Employees
that follow will be financially better off.

On the same note, Weatherby left California
and moved to Sheridan Wyoming. Also
Stag Arms moved to Cheyenne Wyoming.

Constituents in those Toxic States should be
livid and think about changing their voting
patterns. Oh well, they properly didn’t
even notice. Wait until it hits their Pocket
Books.
