Ruger's 1911

I'm not a real big 1911 guy since I've always liked springfield XD's--but a friend showed me his Ruger 1911 yesterday and all I can say is WOW! What a beautiful great handling execution at an great price-point. Almost wish he hadn't--that's gonna start that itch. : ) OOps! just noticed I posted to the wrong forum chapter--moderator(s) feel free to move. sorry.

I have both an XD and an SR1911 and they are both great guns. The XD 9mm was my first pistol and I still use it for CCW (sometimes) and nightstand duty. The SR1911 for me is a range gun only but my favorite shooter. I love the 1911 design and being an engineer I really appreciate the genius of the design. I agree the SR1911 is a great 1911 at a great price point. It really is worth saving up your $ for one if you can.

I have a Full size and a Commander size SR1911. I was at a gun bash in October and won a gun of my choice from a side raffle. Lots of guns to choose from but I picked up another SR1911 full size. Then my first one became my play gun, it now sports a compensator and a Burris Fast Fire reflex sight and Hogue wrap around finger groove grips.

I am a big fan of the M-1911 .45 and I am friendly to the notion of the XD. But then, I am friendly to the notion of a GP-100 too. I guess you can say, I am flexible.
And triggerpull, you are right, the Ruger 1911 is an eye-catching piece. I feel less than adequately supplied sometimes, when I see pics of it.
I have a Colt that is 35 years old and it is a handsome gun now, and always has been. But the Ruger has outdone it, or that is how it seems in the pictures that I see. :D
Can you post a shot of your gun? Yes, I know that they are ubiquitously (very widely) available. But hey, this is a good place to add yours.
