Im working on my wish list until I can make it a buy list. Ruger 8 round .327 are almost non existent. Even six rounds. But Smiths seem to be available but at at least 150% of the Ruger's. Is it if I had a Ruger I would charge that much but sine I don't I will keep a cheap price on it. or is there a difference in the two manufacturers. Or does one have better marketing that the other.

I only see a 7 round .327 from Ruger and that is a GP100 (#1769). There is the single action (Single-Seven) in various configurations and barrel lengths.

The 8-round 327 mag is difficult to find now. It is a Blackhawk and the offering was dropped some years ago.

Yep,, the 8-shot Blackhawk in .327 was a short run. Very desirable to many.

If it were me,, and my desires,, I'd save my money & wait until a Ruger came along. They are quite nice. I have shot some of the Single-Sevens in .327, as well as a Blackhawk in the 8 shot .327.
Wait to find the Blackhawk! Smith's can be nice,, but the Blackhawk is the cat's meow!

Since I grew up with S&W and Colt revolvers, I just can't fathom your obsession. A Dan Wesson obsession I can fathom in the revolver world, but then again I'm an Old revolver guy.

Before Smith added the Hillary Hole on their revolvers, in my region, the Smith revolvers of that era and before were always more expensive than comparable Rugers.
And they held their resale value better, as well.
I didn't say they were necessarily higher quality, although in double action revolvers I do own way more Smiths than Rugers.

I did like the Redhawk that came out a few years back that had a 4 inch barrel and shot I think 8 rounds of 357 .
If you could find a Smith 686-4 in a 7 shot that's about the Grail of the 686 series.
The 686 -5 is easier to find, and it's the last dash that did not have a lock on the frame, but it also does not have the firing pin on the hammer and it has the MIM internals

I was a big SW accumulator until they quit the pinned and recessed guns. I started accumulating Ruger single actions after that. I was also a Ruger 77 man until they ditched the tang safety.
