I have been a Ruger collector for over 50 years, but acquired a few Smiths along the way. As such, I follow their forum as well.

They recently changed the web software and it was working OK, but now the site is unreachable. I just was wondering if it was them or me.

Anyone else follow smith-wesson.com?

I made the password change as requested when the format changed. It worked for a few days and now all I get is this error message:

1]400 Bad Request[/H1]
Request Header Or Cookie Too Large

nginx/1.24.0 (Ubuntu)

yes i am having same problem .. i posted same question just now . 1 pm .did not see yours in time

I deleted all my cookies and then I got in. But it would not recognize me as a member. I looked at old threads and sure enough I found some of my old posts.

So I applied as a new member and now am awaiting approval.

In the mean time I'm re-logging into all my dozen other web sites because of course I lost their cookies too.

I've been a S&W forum member for years and didn't have any issues when they changed their format recently. Only problem I've had was posting a question in the wrong category out of my ignorance, God forbid, and got demerit points against me. Very good forum but they run a tight ship.

Excellent time to change ALL your Passwords unless you're already on a regular schedule for such things.

I get the same response on a different browser.

I tried registering as a new person. They require that they send you a confirming email after they "accept" you, and that letter does not seem to be coming. Of course, its the same address as my original profile.

Not sure how to approach this since I can't e-mail anyone. My new address isn't valid yet and they say my old one is not in their database.

Or select Contact Us at the bottom of their page.

It works just fine for me. I never see compatibility issues with Linux applications, perhaps it's because Linux developers conform to software standards?

The guy who runs that forum now has created such a choking network of rules I had pretty much quit visiting. I had been a member since around 2007. Now they no longer recognize my login information. But the fun was sucked out of there a few years ago and I won't bother to go through registration again.

I'm there since 2005, and the likely reason for the inability to log in is they wanted to purge scammers, and refresh their Email and password database. This is pretty common when old sites get software upgrades.

It took me 5 minutes and I have not experienced any rule issues at all.

I think it's a worthy site for S&W owners to be a part of but your choice / opinion is right for you.
