Ruger target 10/22

I have a 10/22 target with the hammer forged barrel and love to shoot it. It has a very good scope on it and up till recently would drive tracks at 75 and 100 yards. I was cleaning it not to long ago and found the barrel was wiggleing I tried to tighten up the Vblock holding the barrel in and broke the Vblock I have replaced it and it shot well for awhile now same problem.
Has anyone had this problem? I have put thousands and thousands of rounds thew this rifle but I have other 10/22s and not a problem with any of these.

Welcome to the forum. I've never had this problem and I'm no expert. Just thought I'd bring up a couple of possibilities:

Is it possible that you over-tightened the locking bolts? This could crack the V-Block. Also, the receiver is made of aluminum and repeated removal and attaching the barrel causes wear on the soft receiver. The threads may be worn excessively as a result of barrel removal/changing, causing a looser fit.

I see no reason to take the barrel out to clean the gun.Take it out as a unit and drop the trigger group to clean it out and lube.BUT that doesn't have to be done very often either.I clean my barrel every 400- when ever it starts to loose it's accuracy.All mine like a dirty bore.If you've taken it apart several times,you may need to make a shim to wrap around the barrel shank.Wont take much.I bought a well used 10-22 that I had to make a shim for.I used a soda can strip.Worked well.When i bought a new GM barrel it fit tight and ended that problem.Slow

I would think you need to put lock tight on the bolts to the locking block... good bit of even the permanent (red) stuff and the rifle should be good to go for the rest of your life.
