Can anyone tell me the rarity and value of a NIB Ruger Super Blackhawk model GKS-458N? I was told they are rare because of the high gloss. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here's what I have on the "G" high polish Supers from the "Reference of Ruger Firearms":

GKS458N, GKS45N, GKS47N and GKS411N. Known s/n range 86-57298 to 86-94863 (GKS458N); 86-58713 to 87-04780 (GKS45N); and 86-66700 to 86-98008 (GKS47N). The GKS411N is not known to have been made. Estimated quantities: GKS458N = 100; GKS45N = 550; GKS47N = 600. All are rare.

On the quantities produced, I made these estimates from what one distributor received. Don't remember how many that was for that particular distributor (without looking) but I based the estimates on what total production might have been if each of Ruger's distributors at the time received a similar quantity.
Price? Whatever somebody is willing to give...they are rare and do not come up very often. I believe we got $800 out of our NIB gun a few months ago.

Thanks. I was also told 100 were made in this configuration. I am doing a local trade for this Ruger so it will be mine in a week or two.

Please let me know if anyone else has any info.

I don't believe there is anyone else, unless you can get the Factory to cough up proprietary production data. I'm jerking your chain a wee bit..... since Chet15 has had, for years, the best Ruger data outside of the actual Factory records.

I figured he was right on because he seemed very knowledgeable. I just registered today and this was my first post so I'm not familiar with all the experts. I'll know who to go to next time I have a question. Thanks, guys.

And sometimes if you get the wrong person at the Factory, Chad's information is probably closer to the fact then the Factory's. Although 99.9% the Factory information is correct.
