Was there specific years of the nickel hinged cases? I know the Mahogany cases stopped after the factory burned in April 61, or so I read. I have 5704 made and shipped Oct 1960. The box would cost more than I paid for the revolver

Except for a handful of later guns bought with the leftover cases as $4 options, there were only 3 years for the mahogany cases, 1959-1961. My nickel hardware Super is a 1960 gun at 44xx.

I recall many years ago, Dave Hiddleson and I had some conversations and he put me on the chase to the company that imported those latches from Italy back then,,they were located in Solon,Ohio , and when I contacted, visited them they could no longer get these latches/hinges, there was the change from brass, and then nickled ( chromed??)She had told me BOTH ways....wow , that was some time ago....
