Ruger spent case ejection

Hello all! Quick question. A recently purchased Ruger American Predator was failing to eject fired cases. If they ejected at all, they would barely dribble from the breech. Contacted Ruger, and, per my past experience's, their customer service was fantastic. After a few exchanged emails, they asked that I send the rifle back. Having just received it, it now works great. Ruger indicated the firing pin had been replaced. So, after all that, here's the quick question. Has anyone heard of that, and, I guess I don't understand how the firing pin can cause a faulty ejection/extraction.
Thanks in advance.
Roger

I'd guess they "adjusted" something. and in the process of working on the gun decided the firing pin just didn't look right so they replaced it. This happens a lot on returned gun, making it right to avoid a return effort.

:-)

That was my thought blume357. I had to email them asking what had been done. I received a simple one line comment, "Item replaced: firing pin".
The rifle works great now. Just seems odd that they wouldn't furnish a breakdown of the problem and resulting repair. But, as I said, it works now, and they treated me well. Time to hit the range. :-)

Yeah either the extractor or the ejector or a combination of the two was somehow messed up and they simply didn't want to discuss it. I guess as long as it's fixed, it really doesn't matter.
