Don't know if this is the correct section to post this. Sent my $10.00 to Ruger for a letter on my Flat Top 44. Typically I have received a letter stating the date of shipment and a model # and caliber as follows; BKH47,44 caliber or BKH40, 44 caliber or RH38. This time it was the shipping date, model Blackhawk and 44 Magnum. No model was included. The following is the result of several emails being exchanged:

"I am sorry to inform you that the people in the files department cannot find any more information (model #) to the firearm you have requested".

Has anyone else had the same results?

Yep, back when the Flattops were first new there was no need for a model number (actually catalog number) since there was only a single model of each. The numbers started to appear when the .357s sprouted a 6-1/2" barrel and a few 7-1/2" .44s arrived.

They actually had numbers BKH3 and BKH4 at first but these weren't used in "letters" . . . just "Blackhawk .357" and "Blackhawk .44" until the other barrel lengths came out.
:)
