Would this have been shipped with the red laminate grip panels? Can someone tell me year of manufacture? Would it have an internal lock? Would it have been shipped with the spent casings from the test firing? Thanks, Dave

I'm thinking yes on the factory wood grips and brass.
Don't have my RENE here with me at work though to verify that or the d/o/b.

Thanks Hitman. I have my Rene here and it stops at 2009. It was published in 2010 so I suspect that no dates past 2009 show up. A friend bought it. Seller told him it came with the Hogue grips. I doubted that. Maybe someone else will chime in.

If he's got a 4 inch barrel it maybe came with rubber.

All mine are 5.5 inch and none in the 503-xxxxx range.

I think RENE says the fired case started in late 2000. Maybe send a PM to Chet15.

It is the Canadian version with 5.2" barrel. The plastic bag for the Hogue grips was in the package he got! If they were on from the factory it seems strange the bag would be included.

I'm guessing you meant 4.2 inch not 5.2 inch.

Not sure I've seen a 4.2 inch that came with the wood though. That being said, I don't often pay attention to the newer guns. I'd contact Chet15.

And I sent you a PM on another matter.

that dates it to 2015 or newer--so no fired casing would be shipped with the revolver from the factory. All 4.2 redhawks had the hogue bantam style grip except the 45colt/45auto model which had laminated grips and a round butt frame.
The ones with the hogue grip did come with a hogue instruction sheet to explain removal and installation of that specific grip. I think they also sent a plastic removal tool as well.

I have a Redhawk that I bought as a 4.2" bbl gun. However, by actual measurement from the face of the cylinder to the front end of the barrel it measures using a micrometer 3.97". The gun is, of course, stainless steel and came with the rubber grips. Chambered for the .44 magnum round. Serial is 503-579xx. Just wondering if this is an anomaly or a standard model?

The first shorty redhawks were actual 4 inchers. 44mag and 45 colt were both made for a short time in true 4 inch but within a year or two it was extended to 4.2 inches to accomodate the canadian market. Also, the early 4 inchers had a pinned front sight rather than the current front plunger style.

The front sight on my Redhawk is pinned. I'm pretty sure that I bought it (new) in 2008.
