Not even a choice in CA any more since Mike Fifer [sarc] in his infinite wisdom [/sarc] took all the Ruger auto pistols, including the Mk III, off the market here. Nice Buckmark, though maybe a touch too "tacticool" for bunny patrol for my dinosaur brain. But it DID get Thumper, so it works! Good on ya, huntsman...

Truthfully, I'm more of a Ruger semi-auto man myself, but I do really like the barrel length on your Buckmark and the way you have it tricked out. I had never seen one of the slide-pull attachments like yours before. I'll bet that really makes racking the slide more comfortable.

Nice choice on the Browning. And on actually hunting with it!
We can't have a laser or light in the field in AZ (nor in MI where I previously hunted) as they are illegal and would get one a "poaching" citation here. I think it would be interesting to poke a laser through the woods. How do you get the lser and the red dot aligned at range? Or you probably use just one at a time?

I sighted in the reddot and aligned the laser to it, on the wall of the house at 30 yds. Worked great.....

I never could get along with the MK-series grip angle. Had a couple of them, from an early MKI to a later GC model and just couldn't get along with them. They were terribly reliable and accurate but uncomfortable, so I stuck with Brownings for years. Got my first, a Standard, back in 1989 and later put a B-Square full length mount and 2x Tasco ProClass on it. It wears either Altamont bonded ivory or checkered walnut. There's no telling how many thousands of rounds have been through it with nary a complaint. Then came the Bullseye model and it returned some groups that would have to been seen to be believed (0.20"@25yds). It wears Herrett's cocobolo grips and a Burris 4x PA.

Ruger tried with their first 22/45 but the grip frame was too narrow and too slick. It wasn't until the RP model that I found a Ruger I could live with. I outfitted this one with ivory micarta and the VQ kit.

This year came the need for an accurate suppressor host and I chose this one for its multiple rails. Same VQ kit plus a Primary Arms mini reflex sight and a Streamlight TLR-2 light/laser. I've got black micarta ordered for it.
