Ruger OM 41 mag

Just curious but I have a friend who has a 6" or 6.5" barrel OM, unconverted, Blackhawk. Someone stripped all the blue off, trying to make it antiqued. My friend reblued it and did a great job. Round count is unknown but everything is tight and locks up just perfect. I bought this pistola at a pawn shop 4 or 5 years ago just the way I decribed it and then my friend talked me out of it. He then did a great job of reblue.

He is thinking about selling and I told him I would put this out here for some ideas of value. Just a ball park figure would be appreciated

Due to it's reblue etc,, it's considered a shooter grade only. We'd need pics of condition to help further. The serial number would help too, as some folks look for certain numbers.

Ya, cold. Strickly shooter grade. No collector value other than old Model versus new model..

No rust, pits, dings etc. Like I said , a ball park figure. $500-$600 maybe?

As painful as it sounds I'd think more like $200-$300 for a stripped and cold blued OM 41 Mag. A $500-$600 specimen would be a very nice run of the mill 95% shooter grade gun.

Ok, a cold blued gun, in good mechanical order should be worth about $300. If I owned it,, I would have to have it totally reblued by a professional, as most cold blues just do not hold up as well. Not too long back I bought a boxed NICE OM 41 mag for $600.

Ruger will reblue it for 80 bucks, Make sure you remove the old model action parts. They will probably put New Model parts in for free. Here's the Link. ps

Revolver rebluing is shown at $130.

Plus $30 return shipping, plus shipping the gun to Ruger.

But they do a nice "original" job. Your choice.

As was suggested... Remove the OM action parts and grips! Just send them the bare gun & cylinder. It'll come back looking like a new one, then you just slip your OM action back in it, toss the grips back on and you have a like-new 41!
