Ruger old model single six. 3 screw 1960.

Selling for a friend. Ruger old model Single Six, .22 caliber, believe to be 1960, Serial# 15138*. Some bluing wear, but not shot a lot. Unconverted. No box or papers. Have more pics and can get more info if needed.
Asking $375, shipped. Will meet at a local ffl. Open to offers if that's too high.

If that gun has 6 digits starting with 451 in the serial number, it was made in 1966, not 1956. Typo maybe? If it's a 5 digit,,, it is 1956.

That said, it's a neat old gun at a not-bad price, even if it's not 100% "correct" to a collector. Looks good to me.

Good eyes y'all. That has to be an earlier XR-3 grip frame & grips. My first post was about the serial number, and I figured Racer9 would correct me with it being a 5 digit gun.
Now that I look closer, that trigger may be too "thick" for an early gun, so maybe somebody swapped around just the g/f & grips?
Racer9, do not despair,,, as we see a lot of oddities like this.

OK, I got more info. It is a late 1960, serial# 15138* Unconverted.

In 1960, the serial number range started at 151189 & went to 171402. So, an earlier 1960 gun. The grip frame should be an XR-3 as shown. So I'd say the gun has all the correct parts as shipped from the factory.

Yeah, sorry about that. I took the pics a while ago, and tried reading the serial# off them.
Also, the $375 price includes shipping, some days it just don't pay to get out of bed!

No harm, no foul! Some of the numbers guys would want to be sure of what they get so it does make a difference. Plus, due to manufacturing changes over the years, there are different parts in certain models. It does affect the pricing.
