Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk

This Serial number falls way short of the 73 Models. Definitely a 2 pin SA but a few things seem odd. Serial Number is 81-068XX, not listed and the cylinder has a gold stripe. Pretty sure the grips were swapped out. Great shooter, definitely a keeper. Just curious...

I don't understand the issue, seems like a first year ('73) NM SBH that is mildly customized. Ruger website agrees AFAICT.

With the gold stripe and red front sight insert, it looks like a Mag-Na-Port job.

His confusion may come if he looked up the serial number on Rugers web site and not RENE.

RENE confirms, as others said, 1st year 1973 New Model Super Blackhawk.

Yes,, a first year production of the New Model Super Blackhawk. And it's had a bit of custom work,, most likely by MagnaPort. Nice looking gun! It should shoot very well!
