Can anybody give me a going price on Ruger MK2 KMK512. This is the stainless 5 1/2 inch bull barrel. Has original plastic box book papers 2-mags and has never been fired...so it remains new in the box......any help is highly appreciated......thanks....??????

If I remember , they were around $275 new back when I bought mine 12-14 years ago. There is a demand for them now but it's a little insane that some ask $500 or more now. Just as insane that someone would pay that. Supply and demand rules on these. I don't know what a new MkIII sells for either and you could guage the price vs a new one of those. If you could get it for $400 or so I would say you did ok. Not great but you won't get hurt too bad at that price. Just my opinion...

Is it one of the later ones that is factory drilled and tapped w/rings and base? I would probably go a bit higher if it was.

Gun prices anymore are like real estate a roller coaster but prices are rising in general on the some of the Mark series guns. For $400 I'd pick it up, they're not making anymore of them.

Around here, a used but clean Mark II will sell for the same as (or a tiny bit more than) a new comparable model Mark III. A NIB Mark II is a pretty rare bird, and would sell for $50 to $100 more than the comparable NIB Mark III.

For $400 to $425, I would jump on it in a heartbeat. At $500, I'd have to haggle, and maybe pass on it if there was no wiggle room in the price.

2 three digit serial number NIB KMK512s just sold on GB for around $425.00 each. I bought NIB KMK512 with shipper a month or so ago and gave $425.00 shipped.

Stopped by the local gun store yesterday, there in the case was a in the yellow box a 6 7/8 target tappered barrel SS. PRICED, $495.00. Now I do not need this particuler model but it is the only MK II they have had in the last 6-8 months. I'm waiting for a Gov. model SS, to arrive this week used for $425.00. So try and negotiate the best price you can as I'm sure the LGS would have came down at least the tax, or as much as $100.00 possibly.

Thanks for the help. I was the original owner of this gun, bought new in '02. Traded it to a friend for a MK1 5 1/2 bull and some other stuff, before I had a chance to shoot it. My friend never shot it for various reasons, "too pretty, too heavy etc.", he's a rifleman anyway. Now it is back in my possession for the sum $300.00, even after I showed him your advise, we've been good friends ever since pre high school days. Now the question is will I shoot it or leave it unfired....??????

Good deal! I say shoot it. Take care of it and don't abuse it and you won't hurt the value enough to matter in our lifetimes. They are amazingly accurate and dependable little pistols! I say shoot it and enjoy it like it was meant to be.
