Greetings all. Bought this beauty in 1998. And in 2002 put the leupold on. One deer every year with it since 98.

Always look for another when out and about but not that easy to find.

Curious in today's market what one might expect to pay if they do find one.

I think the 77 MkII's and the Hawkeyes are the best bolt action rifles made. This little 308 started my love affair with them.

$1,000+ for a new, not a common rifle in the full stock Model. Inventory is good for standard M77 in the big bores, 375, 300 win mag and 338RCM (interesting as there doesn’t seem to be any ammo). Range from $900 to $2500+ based on model, caliber and manufacture date.

Some few months ago posted that I had purchased a Ruger Mod. 77 MK II in a version commonly referred to as an American Express rifle in cal. 30-06. Stock is I think French walnut, basically tan in color, and lots of dark streaks in it from front to back. According to Ruger the express style rear sight is mounted on a rib that is actually part of the barrel material, no screws involved. Rifle has never been shot other than perhaps the factory may have shot it and came in the original box as new. Only complaint I have about the rifle is that the trigger is quite heavy and thought about installing a Timney but doubt I ever will shoot it. You have to remove small amount of material from the safety to install and that to me takes away from the originality and new condition so doubt I will ever change anything on it. The rifle balances perfectly and it is very sleek and quite handy would add. The days of Ruger producing such high-quality rifles I believe are over, but time marches on as they say.

Actually, you can remove material from the shelf on the trigger not the safety. That is the method I used to install a Timney in my 77 mk2.

I just went to court days(Giant yard sale with a bunch of different people in one spot) here in KY and every Ruger rifle used was $1200 and up. I saw a used 243 boat paddle stock priced for $2000. I think they all where a little high to be honest especially since most of them where common chambers like 7mag, 270, 30-06 the everyday type of stuff.
