Ok, I have a ruger LCR 38+p model that I really like. I bought it brand new in jan of this year. I was at the range today shooting some hornady 110gr +p critical defense ammo and was experiencing a problem with the cylinder not properly rotating after firing causing to jam untill you manually rolled the cylinder into place. I had some federal +p and it did it again with that. Normally it shoots great with fmj, range ammo, etc. The only other time something like this happened similarly is the cylinder popped open slightly once again while shooting + p. My concern is While CC in a life or death situation can I trust it with this ammo? This also has only happened a couple times but once again with + p ammo. I know this thing is rated for plus p but I wonder if it's a little to much kick for the firearm. I honestly don't believe it's a defective weapon but I'm open to feedback. I've probably shot 2500 rounds through it with not a problem, except the one I've described

Thanks for the feedback thus far. I've inspected the revolver thoroughly visually and by dry firing and it seems to be in perfect working condition One thought I'm having is that although it's rated for +P that's a lot of force for a small lightweight polymer frame, that could possibly bind up the cylinder. Which makes me believe that gripping could be an issue even though most people will say that it doesn't affect revolvers only semi auto's.

I'm going to call Ruger this morning tell them the issue get feedback and then maybe go to the range one more time and experiment with different ammunition, and focus in on my grip. I'm hoping to resolve this without sending it in for service. I don't think any gun is perfect, I know my others are not and they each have their little imperfections. But if it is truly a defect and not small imperfections I'll definitely get it repaired then sell it and go with the stainless steel 357 lcr. The extra weight is hardly anything.

Are you sure that the cylinder is properly closed prior to firing. I noticed that my LCR is less positive in this respect compared to my J frame.
