Hello everyone. I was wondering if anybody knows of a company that makes after market stocks for these rifles? I have two of these rifles, one in 25-06 and the other in 243. I would like to have something else for the 25-06. this is one of my rifles that I hunt with. Any help will be much appreciated....Ray

Boyds makes gun stocks for the 77. I have a few of the VT models, I think all you'd have to do is hog out the barrel channel.

dfletcher, thanks for your response. I hope to be able to find another stock, so I can put the original up while hunting. And also I hope I can find a stock that might be lighter in weight. As you know, these are some heavy rifles, but I sure have enjoyed mine. And both of mine were very good shooters right out of the box. I have had both of my rifles for the last 8 or 10 years, and know matter what I was told, I have used both rifles for hunting since I bought them. I will take a look at Boyds. Again Thanks......Ray

I am very curious. What is wrong with the factory Ruger stock for the KM77VT?
My Ruger KM77VT Mark II is a bull barreled 22-250 Rem with a factory laminated wood stock. I put a 12X AO Leupold Varmint scope on it and a Bi-pod. It's my 'yote and chuck rifle out to 400 yards.

They are set up to use prone or for a bench.
Cousin Wayne has a 22PPC. He got ired of hauling it around in factory profile. The quick, cheap and easy solution for the new, lighter stock was to simply put it into a factory wood stock after opening up the barrel channel.

Coop, there is nothing wrong with this stock or rifle. I have had great service as I mentioned in my last post. I live in Ga. and mostly hunt deer and hogs. I was just thinking a after-market stock would lessen the weight. I know there are lighter rifles out there, but I enjoy this rifle and want to use it. If I don't find another stock, this will not deter me from using these fine rifles...Ray

Again, if the action is the same length for 458 & 25.06 this might work best. I have a 458 and am pretty sure the barrel is wider than the VT - you might have to do zero inletting of the channel. Numrich has factory Ruger stocks in other calibers also, I suspect they list the Magnum separately due to the barrel channel and reinforcing screws. BTW, coupon code for Numrich shipping for now is 1630.
dfletcher, thanks for the information. I looked at the link you posted from gunparts. That is a nice stock, but I don't think i would want to pay that much for another stock. But, this at least gives me some ideals to work with...Thanks again....Ray
