Have seen and sold minty boxed H'eyes for up to $3500 as recently as 2 years ago. The economy has not been kind to much we love, and that includes firearms, unless rare, mint, boxed, engraved, etc. RE: Hawkeye 256 WM's: Consecutive SN items also figure into the mix, along with Steel ejector housings, MICRO marked rear sights, 2 and 3 digit SN's, and crisp boxes with PPwk.
Shooters with one or two extra holes tapped into the topstrap, beyond the two factory D&T holes top rear of barrel, will run 1400 to about 1700, from what I see in the past year. Only 3300 made, boxes are flimsy as of Day one and did not stack well, due to length......I have owned more than fifty over the years. Most now with other custodians.........Still have a fascination with them and have no issues about shooting the ones I have. Factory ammo, now out of mfg, is not cheap and most has been "snuck up on" by now. Good set of dies, some real 357 BRASS, not nickle, will give you a reloading basis. Multi-step downsize to 25 caliber, some forty grain slugs, proper powder and you are set. Nice to have a 2.x Bushnell Phantom period scope with barrel mount base......Good to great guns should be out there of 2000 to 2500. They won't go down in value 8) Hope this helps......Thanks, Gunman, for the compliment.
** BTW, have never owned one of the 12 miniatures, refer to the one re-listed on GB recently. For that kind of "financing", I wiill wait for an Engraved Single Six..... :D :)
