Just received the April/May 2026 issue of Handguns magazine. Yes it is still in paper form for now, lol !! 😲
On page 64 there is an article by J. Scott Rupp entitled Ruger New Model Blackhawk Bisley in .41 Mag. At the end of his article he states: I don't know how long this model will stick around, but at press time, it is still listed on Lipsey's.com for $889.00.
Well , I went on their website, and yes, it is still listed as stated in the article . But, I have had one of these on order with two different local gun stores who are both Lipsey dealers since early August 2025. Neither dealer can get ANY info or status updates on the gun, for their distributors or Lipsey's . A good friend in another state is also in the same boat with his local dealer. I did see one { new, unfired } listed on Gunbroker a couple months ago that sold for $2025.00 I would think that this gun being in such demand, would be made more available , if in fact they still are ?
Anyway, after 7 months waiting, I said the hell with it and cancelled both my orders. My buddy is still holding out hope, I wished him good luck, lol !!

I love the 41. Been wanting a 57 for a while now, I just haven't found the right one yet.
This Ruger came out about 4 months ago I guess. Didn't know they were going for quite that much!

The Lipsey's website says list price is $889.00 , the link to the sold gun on G/B is the result of a bidding war.
Selling for almost 3 times the list price , Naa, I don't think so ! (n)

If it's the flat-top, it's only going to be available from Lipsey's. I got aggravated years ago trying to order their limited run guns from my local dealer. Lipsey's doesn't do first come, first served. They ship to their highest volume dealers first. If they get a shipment from Ruger of 20 guns and a big dealer ordered 20 of them yesterday and you ordered yours six months ago, they're going to the big dealer.

I would have one built from a different chambering before I'd pay $2000 for one.

With Ruger appearing to be headed towards a sale it may be awhile before any more are available if at all. Gunbroker would be your best bet right now if you can handle the premium.
Sale???

Lead Times; Those articles were likely written 6 months ago

Just to clarify, these .41 Flattops were announced in December 2024, and within 2 weeks were
UNOBTAINIUM.
I know cause I tried every dealer in town.

If building, a great doner choice is the flat top Blackhawk in 357 mag, re-chambered to 41 special.

My only question would be if they are no longer made available why are they still posted on their website after all this time ?

If I was building one to duplicate the Bisley in the OP, it would be a .41Mag and that 'may' require a custom cylinder to get the appropriate length.

If I was building a .41Special it would be on an Old Model .357. ;)
