Anyone know if Bearcat ejector rod housings are available in stainless anywhere? I looked on the Bowen website and it only list blued replacements. And I went to Eric's website I think the name EWKARMS or something and did not see them listed there either.
Any help would be great in finding where to purchase a SS replacement.
Thanks, JJ

If you have an aluminum housing on a SS Bearcat it CAN be polished. I removed mine and polished it and you cannot tell it was ever that dull finish. It looks just like the rest of the gun.

Thanks, I have seen a few articles about removing the paint and using fine steel wool to polish it. Is that how you do yours?

I believe that Ruger is now shipping stainless Bearcats with stainless ejector rod housings (as opposed to aluminum).

It seems to me that this began after the Lipsey's exclusive "Shopkeeper" version came out. I think the Shopkeeper was the first stainless Bearcat to come from the factory with a stainless ejector rod housing.

Ruger may be able to sell you the part you're looking for.

The only fly in the ointment might be barrel length on your gun (4" barrel vs. a 4.2" barrel). Depending on how the length matches up with your barrel, it might not give you the exact "look" you're after.

I used very fine "OOOO" steel wool to get rid of the painted junk and then used my Demeral tool with the polishing attachments to finish the job.

I haven't received the Bearcat yet from my FFL. Hoping it is not a "old new in box" with the aluminum housing. I should get it in a few days. I don't have the serial number, I only have the model and catalog number which is " KSBC4 -0913. I tried to look up the year production based on those numbers and saw photos of both housings on guns. So, it's a wait and see I guess. I believe the one I bought has the four inch barrel. JJ

I change all the housings on my other guns but don't have a problem whatsoever with the Bearcat's aluminum housing.

The ejector is the same, whether the barrel is 4" or 4.2".

Nice gun! I still think a SS housing would really finish it off. I think the aluminum looks out of place.
That's just me. You still have a "purdy" gun there! JJ

I’ve heard Ruger now makes stainless steel ejector rod housings for Bearcats.
Stainless steel part #KPR02204 for about $31.99.

Just picked up the Bearcat, tickled that it had the stainless ejector housing. Ruger must have listened to the discontent about the aluminum ejector housing. My gun is perfect!!!! Very happy with it. JJ

Did a little target shooting with the Bearcat. I was surprised how accurate it is.
I Started at 25 feet and it was right on center, I moved out to 50 feet and still hit center mass. At 75 feet it was hitting the target but chipping away at the corners. Moved in to 62 feet and it was dead center. These photos were at 62 feet.
