Hey. Just joined. Got a Bearcat (S# 028x). Want to know value. Is value better if unrestored? If do restore, who is best for Bearcat work? (for longer version look in New Members thread 'Hey from SC').

Welcome!
I'm sure others will be by soon to answer your particular questions.
In regards to who works on/optimizes Bearcats, check out this Gunblast article from earlier this week: http://www.gunblast.com/Boge_BowenBearcat.htm

Yeah, saw that earlier, but it says that Bowen will only work on New Bearcats, since the older stuff had inconsistant tolerances. Love Bowen's work...

Sorry for the big pics, I don't know how to resize them!

Maybe it is a bit of dirt or something but that doesn't look like an "O" it looks like a "Q" making it an alphabet gun. I think Boge Quinn might be looking for one...

PS - about restoring, WHY? It is original now, in pretty good condition, it won't be after. Restoration is for guns that are crappy and incomplete not an example like this.

Please resize the pics or post a link to them instead of posting oversize images on the Forum. Thanks!

Alphabet Bearcats are $400 to around $475. A nice box is worth an additional $100, esp. if it has the Owner's Manual and other paperwork.

Flatgate I hope you are right as I've got one in the Box on Gunbroker, lots of watchers.

There is a box on ebay now currently at 85 with a day left

I guess I haven't figured out how to use quotes

If you have a Q Bearcat, I am definitely interested. Email me please at [email protected].

By the way - I am working on an article about Bowen's catalog "Perfected Bearcat" package. Should be up the first of the week.

Mine is an E , picked it up 20 years ago. Tried to sell it as i am cleaning out the safe queens. Shipping is high so no buyers, had several back out at the last minute. Good luck.

I have a B (paid $250 IIRC) and an M (just paid $300). Glad to hear the values are up, they are great guns.

I stopped selling C&R handguns online, because UPS Red Label overnight charges are obscene........
