I am in need of a front sight and it looks like the Alaskan Model front sight is the design that I'm interested in, but I am not sure of the height of that.
Does anyone have a measurement on that sight from the top of the barrel to the top of the sight.
Thanks

I'm out of town and don't remember the measurement, however if you don't get a answer by tomorrow evening I will be home then.

The Alaskan built so stout but the front sight on mine went wobbly,,,,

My stock blade ~.309

My kitchen table ~.312

I have been contacted by several Alaskan owners all with the same "wobble" to thier blade, wanting to know where to aquire my solution.
You are correct its home built, NFS, your sure welcome to use the idea, and build your own. I did want to use the same method of holding it there, same drift pin.

I used the DX sight body/ blade for my idea, shortened the body length a tad and lengthened the blade a tad, passed the blade thru the body to allow it to be pinned.

Hope all this bla,bla helps.

The DX body and interchangeable blades, base is screwed on thus requiring drill & tap or IIRC there is also a solder on version.
