I have a Ruger 96 in .22LR that must have been built in 1996 or early 1997 as I purchased it in 1997 from WalMart. Someone had dropped it against the edge of the counter and cracked the barrel band. I never did hunt with it, though I tested it without the band on it and it shot very well. 5 shots at 20 yards you can easily cover with a dime. Anyone know where I can find a new barrel band? I'd like to fix it, otherwise I'd probably just sell it as I enjoy my 10/22s too much. The rifle looks as you'd expect it to come out of the box. WalMart didn't have the box but I still have all the paperwork. The barrel band part #is L06801, and it is definitely smaller thanthe 10/22 band. Suggestions?

This post may be deleted - haven't figured out how to do that.

If all else fails you might try Numrich in New York. The have a website & you can check inventory on line. Good luck.
